Maxwell! I almost didn't recognize you with that beard. You look so grown-up. It's wonderful to have you with us again. You were certainly missed.

The campus is always so beautiful when it's covered in snow, though it's a shame the days have to get shorter. It's dark so early now. I hope everyone is staying warm and healthy. Are there any residents without sufficient winter clothes? It must be the first winter for at least some of you. Perhaps a shopping trip is in order if enough people are lacking in warm clothing or snow boots.

There's still so much to do before the break. Is anyone interested in helping me decorate the dorms for the winter holidays? I plan to travel home to Hyrule for a short time, but seeing as we don't celebrate Christmas, I'll be sure to return here by then. In the meantime, please remember my open door policy! As your Resident Assistant, I'm here to help, so don't hesitate to seek me out for anything you might need, even if it's just to chat.

[OOC: Office log! Feel free to swing by Zelda's room/the common room any time between now and the start of winter break on December 14th. She's pretty much up with the sun and out and about most of the day, but she returns to her room in the late afternoon/early evening when Vashta wakes up. For the purposes of this log, she'll be around the dorms (common room cutting out paper snowflakes and untangling lights, kitchen baking a million cookies, outside shoveling snow from the walkways, anywhere around the dorm complex, location is up to you) from about 9 AM to 6 or 7 PM and in her room until 10 or 11 PM, when she goes to sleep. This entry can be responded to like any normal journal, but if you opt for the office log route, please use paragraph format, and fill out this template!]

"I'm usually busy." She laughed. Since coming to Smash Academy, she'd engaged in many activities generally considered unbecoming of a princess--things usually taken care of by servants, like cooking and cleaning and doing her own laundry. Sure, it was a bit of an adjustment, but in becoming RA she'd accepted her duties with a smile. It was her job to make the dorms a home away from home, after all.

"Especially around the holidays. Some of the students don't go home, so I take it upon myself to bring home to them. What about you? How have you been?"
shiminon: (oh great)

His head nodded up, shifting his gaze to the sky. "Fine, I guess. Things can never be spectacular or nothin', so I guess I've been pretty okay." Really, happiness was always knocking on Shinon's door but he always took the wrong routes to get to. It's as though he didn't want happiness, which is exactly the case. Nonetheless, that wasn't the way Shinon saw it.

That was probably the best she was going to get out of Shinon. She could try to cheer him up, but somehow Zelda felt like the archer was at his happiest when he was unhappy.

It didn't mean she wasn't going to tease him a little. "Fine, you guess?"
shiminon: (oh wow.)

Shinon gave her a look. "Yeah. Fine. You know? Good," he cued, wondering if she understood what he meant.

She laughed at the misunderstanding and waved her hand. "I know."

A smile. "I'm glad you're doing well."
shiminon: (Oh yeah rite.)

He nodded, looking off into the distance before again fixing his eyes upon the princess. "So... you're gonna stay here? Don't you have some pretty little castle you could go back to?"

Shinon's comment was met with a bit of a sad smile. "I...I suppose you could call it that." She was, in fact planning a return home for what was, in Final Destination, the holidays. "I usually return to Hyrule over break to spend time with a dear friend of mine. And...my father, of course." She added as an almost-afterthought.
shiminon: (You were saying...?)

"Ah. Yep. I thought that'd be the case," he remarked, not quite bothering to key in to any emotional cues Zelda may have.

Zelda shrugged and smiled, trying not to dwell on the intricacies of spending the holidays at home. "It's nice. But it's very quiet and certainly dull compared to here."
