The recent posts on the journal network have been troubling, to say the least.
I understand that much of the curriculum of this school is combat-oriented. That does not, however, excuse students and faculty landing each other in the hospital. Though it may have begun as self-defense, the violence went too far on both parts, and the animosity and whitewashing that spread over the journal network afterward is also uncalled for.
As one of the Resident Advisors, it is my job to ensure that the student dorms are a comfortable and safe place that we call our home-away-from home. Frankly, the negative feelings I've been observing, whether from involved parties or not, is not conducive to a healthy living environment.
Therefore, the other RAs and I will be holding a mandatorysit in a circle and sing kumbaya meeting over winter break for all residents to discuss these issues and hopefully come to some sort of understanding. Though I cannot force faculty to attend, I strongly recommend attendance.
